“I wanted to keep the style as natural as possible so Amy wears all her own clothes. The dog of the house ‘Rock Dog’ a Corgi cross Pitbull kept jumping into frame so we decided it was only fair he also feature in the shoot.” tells Australian photographer Ryan Pike about this soft and dreamy story shot in Amy’s boyfriends house in Surry Hills, Sydney. Amy Summer is currently studying Art and Design at at UNSW. “My practice is erratic and playful. I am interested in exploring sexuality, identity and the pretty vs. gritty nature of life. I often express these feelings by combining elements from humans, animals and nature. I relish in the textural qualities of forms when taken from their wider context; such as the sharp teeth and pink gummy contours within an animal’s mouth. I also love portraiture. More than any concept, I try to capture an energy.”
