Sitting down and talking with Taylor LaShae is always a pleasure. Like a jack of all the coolest trades, you can’t limit her to one thing. Modeling, acting, loving, partying, traveling, she does it better than all the rest of us. Add it all up she’s definitely one thing. A Muse. So we get personal with one muse about all her own muses and what makes her tick, and best of all we do it in the shower. Hope you enjoy.
What is the strangest, most personal, idiosyncrasy about you?
Humans are so diverse and beautiful.. everyone is so strange in their own way. It almost makes strange seem normal. I know people who have some crazy ticks, but I can’t think of anything for me. I have no weird things that I do that I’m aware of. Actually now that I think about it I have no real idiosyncrasies. I’m definitely from another planet. Neptune to be exact.
Name one person you idolize more than any other right at this very moment, do you have any muses of your own?
Right now, I love anything french wave. I love the feel, the nostalgia, I don’t know..it has that certain.. “je ne sais quoi” haha! I romanticize living in paris in the 60s. I adore the characters of Anna Karina. Her beauty, foreign grace, youth, and all her mistakes. I think there is no better example of a legend in my eyes.
You live in Brooklyn, do you find this a stimulating place to live? It’s obviously a Mecca for youth culture in the US, What’s the Mood there for you?
It’s like a big playground, you literally can’t walk outside without running into somebody you know. It is both fun and very disturbing when you try to walk to the corner store in your pajamas and run into Leonardo Dicaprio — and yes, that happened.
Is there anywhere else in the world you would rather be?
I live in the greatest city in all of the world.. but this world is so big and I haven’t discovered but maybe 1/100 of it. Give me a magic globe any day… I would love to close my eyes, spin it, point, and magically appear anywhere in a heartbeat. The world is too big to settle for one place. discover – explore!
Where most kids grow up around Parks, Walmart, or god knows what, you grew up literally next door to NASA, you even went to space school in the place of regular elementary, do you think this plays at all into who you are?
Absolutely. Not until recently have I realized how much effect it had on me. As a kid it was all I knew. All my friends parents were astronauts and scientists. I would lay out in my back yard (NASA fields) and just stare up. I never got bored.. I never stopped asking questions. I still don’t. Any topic of cosmology is without a doubt my favorite art of conversation. I am now a member of the Amateur Astrologers Association here in NYC, attend the seminars, and man, I am just so fascinated by it all. I could go on and on and on…
Your all over the internet, whats the difference between the internet you and the real you?
Well, one thing is for certain, I love to document anything and everything. I love promoting myself in my own work because I fancy myself a social media business woman. I post what I like and have tons of fun doing it..and if not.. i’ll still be doing the same stuff anyways! I definitely can say some real differences are, 1.) In “real life” I hate brand names. I’d prefer thrift over a label any day. 2.) I’m extremely picky about everything I do aesthetically vs. my ‘too cool to care’ online persona. 3) The real me loves playing video games and eating loads of horrible food while internet me doesn’t post that because.. well.. gross. Who cares what I eat. I don’t. 4.) I’m not as witty in person as my “one up captions.” Captions are good for what they are.. no one in the land of ever is anyone as witty as their caption.. am I right? okay now I’m hating.
