You know that feeling when you arrive somewhere for the first time? Marisa Chafetz is just having one of those awesome first-time moments in L.A where she is staying with a film maker/ dancer and exploring California and taking pic of her adventures. “The best moment of the trip was at the end of the two weeks, when we hiked up to a canyon in malibu. Malibu was beautiful, but I still had no idea just how beautiful it would become when we got to the top of the mountain. I was truly in awe. We all sat atop the rocks in silence and just took in the beauty of nature while the sun set. Later when we were driving down the mountain, we saw the moon just above where the oceans meets the sky. It was a full moon, and it was bright pink. It was the most amazing thing. We later heard it was the largest the moon would appear all year.” Enjoy part one of the two part series exclusive on C-Heads.

I ended up visiting a few of the spots she captured—just random streets and open spaces—and it gave the whole trip a way more authentic vibe. This travel diary isn’t just about where to go, but more about how to experience a place. Really glad I found it when I did—it added something special to my journey.
