We grew up with colourful hair, braids, piercings, Rave Parties, Platform shoes, Skateboards, Nirvana, Anarchistic punks and Dr.Martens. Not really giving a damn about anything rather than enjoying the moments of being young.
Not caring about anyone´s opinion of wanting us to care more about a solid future. We were the kind of “the future is now” generation. Always rebellious on the inside and showing it on the outside through our clothes. When recently the 90s fashion trend suddenly started to trickle slowly back into the mainstream fashion brands, and girls in Dr.Martens, round glasses, and belly Tee´s were waiting with me at the train station, long forgotten memories from that time came back like a flash. At that point I realised that I kept most of those rebellious thoughts inside but unfortunately didn´t keep any of the things I wore at that time ( I really should have!). But well…
Now talking about rebellious – we have just heard about Dr. Martens announcing its #standforsomething Dr. Martens Tour 2014 – headlined by the UK indie rock band Pulled Apart By Horses and the support by the English alternative rock band from Leeds Dinosaur Pile-Up. Both of those bands are definitely having influences from the 90s as well, and they will cause some serious headbanging time. In addition to these two Dr. Martens #standforsomething tour will also announce a special local guest band at each leg to complete the line-up. More information on further support acts and will be made available to fans in the coming weeks. To ensure you are the first to hear, register interest at www.drmartens.com/standforsomethingtour.
And yes more good news! We raffle one pair of Dr.Martens of your choice! Just send us an email to contact @ c-heads.com with the subject “Dr.Martens” until 28th of August and let us know what do you stand for? The raffle ends automatically on the 28th August. The winner will be notified via mail.
