Jinveun, based in Seoul Korea is currently an undergraduate student majoring in fine art who also likes to pick up her camera to capture portraits of people in her surrounding. “Most of my photos are taken with Nikon FM2 film camera, as it makes my photos look vintage and I just love the way the colors turn out. My interest is shooting photos of people with diverse masks and figures. I concentrate on capturing natural images such as a person’s daily life and the feelings the person feels at that moment. I also like to take dreamy, mysterious pictures and seek for photos with stories.”
She mostly shoots outdoors and to make her photos more natural, she normally does not plan the concept in advance and photographs her friends spontaneously while hanging out and chatting with them. “Sometimes when something comes up in my mind I put it right into action. One time ‘taking photos of people in Islamic traditional clothes’ struck my mind and I actually bought the clothes and put the idea into action.” We have picked out a few of her calm, reflective youth portraits.
