Hermann Hesse is one of my all time favorite author. (And usually I am sad not a lot people have read any of his books) I discovered him several years ago when I read “The Glass Bead Game”, a novel about life, hope and consequences. And since that I binge-read every title I can find of him. California based artists Stephen Paul´s “Moment of Youth” is a 2.5 minute long short film inspired by the existential novel Knulp by Hermann Hesse starring the two protagonists Holland Olmsted and Sean McBride with music by Lael Neale shot on Canon 5d mkii and Yashica super 600 with expired Kodak Super 8 film. Knulp – a wonderful story about the joy and sadness of being a bohemian in life and soul. Filled with thoughts of life wisdom and deeply human insights.
