“Our generation is all about breaking boundaries. Setting out to do things that people never thought were possible. Not just the typical graduate high school, go to college and get a job. More of finding yourself and who you were meant to be and what mark you want to make in your life.”
Jessica Weiser teamed up with Emily at Maggie Inc, hair and make-up artists Kacie Corbelle and stylist Sarah Benge for this C-Heads Exclusive shot on digital and 35 mm, film dev & scans by Indie Film Lab. Emily talks about her morning ritual, fashion statements and Joaquin Phoenix.
What is a typical day like for you?
A typical day starts off with a shot of apple cider vinegar and a coffee. My day consists mostly of castings, photo shoots, going to the gym, and bikram yoga classes. When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my family and friends. My days always end with an hour of guided meditation which I strongly believe keeps me in sync.
What is beauty?
I’ve always been a believer that beauty is someone who is confident in their own skin. I think a woman who not only embraces what they were given but are kind and compassionate is the true definition of beauty.
How long does it take you to decide what to wear?
Some days I rip apart my closet for an hour in order to put together the perfect outfit and others I put on sweats and a beanie and I’m ready to go.
And how important is fashion in daily life for you?
Fashion is very important to me in my daily life. I like to leave the house feeling confident and expressing my style. You never know who you could meet or come across and that’s why I love looking my best to make a not only a good impression but a statement.
Your generation is all about… Breaking boundaries. Setting out to do things that people never thought were possible. Not just the typical graduate high school, go to college and get a job. More of finding yourself and who you were meant to be and what mark you want to make in your life.
Who do you dream about?
I dream about Joaquin Phoenix. To be honest I’ve been in love with him since I saw him play my favorite singer Johnny Cash in walk the line. He’s definitely a weird guy, but I’m a weird girl and I think we’d make a great couple.
What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
I definitely wouldn’t be able to live without my phone. I use it for everything from navigating my way around NYC (since I just moved here) to meditating with all of the soundtracks I’ve downloaded. Keeping in touch with people and having my calendar in my pocket is also very important to me as a model. I think many people would agree.
What do you expect from life?
I expect to make it big in the modeling industry. I recently I recently got signed with an agency in NYC and made the move here with two weeks notice. I want to make it big as a model to inspire people and help other models achieve their goals. I want to give back to all the people who have given to me, especially my family who have supported me since day one. I want to make a positive impression on young girls and be a role model in many people’s lives.
