“They Predicted Rain” is a lovely story about two sisters photographed by Lindsey L33 starring Kendal and Cara who stayed home when they imagined the weather being sour one day. Instead of attending to real life, they play, share candy, ponder life, contemplate darkness, and fantasize about lives unknown. One younger, one older, but only by two years, these two spend their alone time enjoying the company of one another, and creating dreamscape realities for themselves. Even if it doesn’t rain, once they predict the rain, their minds leave self-conscious reality to fly away to cosmic consciousness. Styling by Marion Hayes and makeup by Jacqueline Fernandez.
Kendal (younger sister): “We played games to get away from the pressures of ‘real life.’ We both watched others around us become obsessed with the creations of the controllers of the world, and we wanted to create for ourselves. Living into the fantasy that others provided for us – that of money, power, and fame – seemed boring and unoriginal. Instead, we imagined lives of our own.”
Cara: “My intention was to establish some sort of new age relationship with my younger sister. As I got older, everyone around me started to seem crazy – the world itself seemed crazy. Chasing dreams dreamt by others as opposed to chasing their own dreams. I imagined alongside my younger sister, who always had a nact for being unique without trying to be unique- my ideal enlightened environment inspiring me to be me. ”
