Still in Rock x C-Heads Mixie #2 – Waterloo Sunrise by Still In Rock on Mixcloud
“In the levee wash she’s
mixin’ cocktails with a plastic-tipped cigar
My eyes stick to all the shiny robes
you wear on the protein delta strip
in abandoned house but i will wait there
i’ll be waiting forever…
i’m waiting…”
(Pavement, best band in history).
To go from one extreme to another – after the winter, the summer heat. After a first mixtape made of contemplative jazz, the colorful pop of a second one. To go together to Evidence, a fictional place often visited by uncreative music. And yet, some artists do manage to capture the universal while maintaining the strength of a bold message.
This story recalls the need to skim the great sensations without forgetting their simplicity. A sort of new apprehension of what is obvious. It is about not taking it for granted, without thinking about it, but instead, to pay particular attention to what is admirable in the great simplicity of things. This is the story of a summer where we are first flabbergasted by the atmosphere always created by this season. It is also the story of music that imposes a feeling. “I’m glad I’m teased by the breeze.”
To take only singles and to form an inseparable unity, a goal to which I dedicated myself today. Tomorrow, I will judge the result.
