Ruby by Rahkela for C-Heads

Photographer Rahkela is an Australian freelance photographer that creates images to remember what happened and to bring into being something that only existed in her mind before. For this exclusive, colourful and super rad C-Heads story she collaborated with Model Ruby Hough from Jaz Daly Management.

And what was the inspiration behind it? “One thing and one thing only, Jimi Hendrix. But the purple haze lyrics if you’d like me to be specific. Our location originally was Sydney City, and originally had this gnarly 90s grunge pop rave thing happening but we got there and the vibe was all wrong and the whole team agreed that 90s’ grunge is so tumblr so we got back in my car and headed over to Newtown, Purple Haze came on the radio and by the time we got there we all had a completely different vibe altogether and with that we went on to create the perfect shoot! I’m still not sure how Jimi Hendrix and these crazy 90’s rave esq inspired designs by Anell Holly and Jesh Creative fit in together but as said by Jimi himself. “You have to go on and be crazy. Craziness is like heaven.”
