“Pink Pistols exhibition is all about celebrating and exploring the female body and showing unconventional fashion photography curated by Simone Steenberg and Lolo Bates.”
Simone Steenberg and Lolo Bates, both photographers studying at the London College of Fashion will be curating a fashion photography show, called Pink Pistols, at Doomed Gallery in Dalston London opening June 18th 2015, which will include a live performance with sound art. “The idea of this show was born after Lolo and I began our collaboration after a trip to Paris. We really clicked and had interesting discussions about gender and the body. As feminists we wanted to showcase photographers that we really believe in and be able to reach a wider audience with our work. We felt that in this digital age we also wanted to show our photography in a physical and tangible form. Pink Pistols exhibition is about celebrating the body and showing unconventional fashion photography and we hope to continue this collective by doing bi-annual exhibitions and publications.” Photographers involved including duo Jen Whitaker, Jesse Draxler, Andi Galdi Vinko as well as showing their own photographic works.
