“I think in the modelling industry a wave of change doesn’t come frequently enough, whether it is an individual or a movement. What is needed is someone with a totally fresh and almost controversial perspective that will make people ask questions and most importantly start a wave of change. To alter a world that has such entrenched ideals on body image, will take solidarity in large numbers to change the traditional ‘norm’. The most important quality is probably confidence because you have got to believe in what you do and stand by your principals especially when criticised. Hopefully the industry is going to start appreciating girls of all shapes and sizes, because representation is so necessary in a world of beautiful diverse women.”- Karmi.
