I almost fell off my unicorn!”
No doubt Nicoline Aagesen is one of the most badass females on the face of the earth. Years ago we featured her modeling here, but now she’s become an eager-to-try-out-new-things photographer as well. She moved from Denmark toĀ Hong Kong after touring internationally with dancing then fell into modeling, now she gets her hands on cameras. Get to know herĀ as she uncovers her past and her secrets.
How did you get into photography?
I started assisting some danish fashion photographers during my time at the Danish school of photography, but dropped out because I got a job in Greece. “Sim sim salabim” I started shootingā¦ I Love to collect moments and keep them forever. And photography gives you exactly that opportunity!
Where does your inspiration for your photography come from?
Long walks in the streets getting lost and crazy, inspires me. Every little weird thing I seeā¦ And amazing photographers as Tony Kelly, Henrik Purienne & David LaChapelle! Pure eye candy to watch their work!
Describe your style of photography
My camera my rules ;)
What made you think of My Camera My Rules?
A model I was shooting had just one million too many things too say, and I ended up saying, My Camera, My Rules!!! and that was it ;)
What are the main differences between being in front and behind of the camera?
Being in front you can pretend to be so many different types! You can play with expressions and you feel like a superstar, but being behind the camera makes you the boss! itās la la land.. everything is possible with the right fantasy.
Is photography any different between your hometown (Denmark) and Hong Kong?
If we compare it to food, Denmark has one national dish, and during my fifth years here in Hong Kong i still havenāt figured out the number of different noodle dishes.. Kawaii
And what made you want to move to Hong Kong?
I lived in Greece before and needed a change.. My friend was in HK and he said I could stay with him.. so boomshagalacka.. a oneway ticket to HK was booked
Where do you see your photography going in 5 years?
The bigger the betterĀ ;)
