Here comes round #1 from the 2-part series Summer on The Cape photographed by Atisha Paulson. It´s those summer memories that we will live off for the rest of our days. Moments that will never return. An easiness that we will never regain. A summer that we will never forget.
“Ode to summer days. We acted like kids because our parents were around. We checked the yard religiously each morning for wild blueberries and ate whatever the birds left over. We piled into our trucks with sun-bleached towels and cans of beer in an expensive cooler we left on the side of the road because it was too heavy to carry. We decorated the house with red white and blue streamers. We drank. We ate ice cream and apple pie. We drank more. We fought like hell. We got a selfie stick that we never used. We tried to figure out what was happening in this season of True Detective. We smoked what we said were our last cigarettes. We shooed dogs away from the turtle nests, white eggs glowing translucent in the magic hour. We took pictures to help us remember.”
