Daisy Hofstetter is a model and photographer who now shoots for one of the biggest fashion clothing chains in Australia–General Pants. This is a face you can’t forget and I couldn’t leave Australia without photographing this edgy, blue haired beauty.

Love your photography – how long have you been shooting and what camera do you use?
I completed my Cert 4 in Photo Imaging in 2012 and didn’t feel that I needed to do Diploma. I upped and moved to Sydney after that and am now shooting for General Pants Co. and Voena. I shoot digital on my Canon 6D and film on my Nikon f3.
Your “Higher Ground” editorial is sick – where did you get inspiration for that and find that location?
The location was actually an installation at Sydney Festival. I’d seen someone post a picture of it on Instagram and looked it up. I went the next day to suss out if I could do a sneaky shoot there and a few days rocked up with my model Dylan, styling I’d pulled from work and my film camera! It’s one of my favourite shoots to date. The spontaneous ones always turn out the coolest.

What is it like growing up in Australia?
Growing up in Australia is rad. I mean, I don’t know any different but I think I live in a very fortunate and privileged country. I’m originally from Brisbane, Qld but moved around quite a lot growing up. 18 houses to date to be precise!
Any favourite places ?
Best Thai noodles in Sydney are at Paper Box. When I lived in Potts Point, that was my go-to take out place. Also Hernandez dates with my friend Harumi. It’s this cool little 24hr café in the cross. Good for 1am coffees and d&m’s.
What’s the ‘underground’ music scene there like?
I think it’s pretty cool. I usually head to gigs and mini festivals around Newtown and Marrackville with my mates and it’s always a fun time.
