“I’ve been recently saved from drowning in this pool of zero motivation, one swirling with dreams and nightmares that hindered me from balancing facts with truth. Now that I’m recovered, these new found inspirations have allowed me to gain a new perspective on photography.” Cary Fagan explains his new perspective/outlook on photography inspired by personal things.
“In life, there’s a distinct difference between truth and fact. Facts are drafted by scientific and mathematical discovery, determined by laws of nature and physics. They are tangible and irrefutable. Meanwhile, truths are entirely shaped by individual perspective. Humans rely on the latter, with the underlying principle of the Placebo Effect as a tool to live off of on a daily basis, in any given situation. Imagination is the root to this, and I am guilty. Placebo can pave the way for one’s future if he/she manifests their beliefs into reality, but we can also create detrimental worlds using this concept of shaping our own realities. I often visualize being in a higher place, in life reaching opportunities, and doing things I love to sustain happiness. This often blinds me from the tangible facts. I’ve been recently saved from drowning in this pool of zero motivation, one swirling with dreams and nightmares that hindered me from balancing facts with truth. Now that I’m recovered, these new found inspirations have allowed me to gain a new perspective on photography.
I’m an emotional human being with a delicate heart who often daydreams about life and death. A pessimist by nature, but knows to cope; and be a chameleon in real life situations. Lately I haven’t had any motivation for photography and went through a period of self-devaluation.. I didn’t see things the way I used to when I first started. My environment did not correspond with me (still doesn’t) I lost cherishable relationships. It hurts me knowing that those closest to me don’t fully support, or understand me for what I choose to do with my life.”
