Those images feel like balm for our distracted, restless souls.
Olga Urbanek is a Polish photographer who has been based in Iceland for the past couple of months – a place that can immediately be recognized on her stunning images, with its magical and lonely countryside. A place that attracts you to retreat, discover and marvel at its ungraspable beauty. “I have been deeply and affectionately in love with photography for as long as I can remember. The thought, however, of being on the other side of the lense has not occurred to me. Now , I can’t picture it being any other way. My work, in brief, is dirty and quiet. It’s been captured in Iceland where I have been residing for the last 4 months. It’s a fantastical realm, even despite the weather that always warrants a complaint. But the way I see it you simply got to get used to it and do your own thing. Iceland is a place of strange magic that has the power to change lives and characters. That’s what it has done for me. Here, every new place I uncover leaves me in awe and makes me think – this is life at its purest moment, now, here and the rest has no meaning.”
