A summary of the FFF Festival by Jessica Louise Dye

A little rain and mud couldn’t stop the attendees of this year’s Fun Fun Fun Fest. The chilly weather meant all of Austin’s beautiful tattoos were covered by leopard hoodies and rainbow hair hid under umbrellas. But the festival carried on. And tacos we’re eaten. So. Many. Tacos.
Celebrating it’s tenth year, Fun Fun Fun Fest is put on by the creative community of Austin. Attending as a visitor from NYC, I felt like I was crashing the coolest local party with bands I love. I admittedly gorged on their amazing food trucks- all of which were reasonably priced for a festival (comparable to what I would pay on the street in NYC). Don’t even get me started on how much Shiner Bock I consumed. The company even had special “Fun Fun Fun” cans made for the festival. That’s pretty damn cool. The festival was divided into four stage and had a slew of activities mixed in between. I shopped all the local clothing vendors and art. I got weird in several photo booths. I swung from a tonsil. A huge super collider for roller skating babes, dudes on skate boards and top BMXers to whip around on sat in the middle of the park. There was a wrestling ring with non-stop matches and lots of sequined wrestling hopefuls beating the (fake) crap out of one another. All while comedians and bands took to the stage. With this much fun to partake in, catching all of the 100+ musical acts seemed overwhelming (and impossible). But here were some of my favorite moments, all enjoyed while sitting in the grass, with a plate of nachos and a cold beer.
