Like the way the morning hits your eyes, you put your socks on like a lazy
cat. Little sister what have you done folding butterfly wings back inside you
for broken toys you’ve kept in your crypt. Little sister your eyes bent spoons
cereal milk-full opals they tear like your love and vanity. I’ve always poured
in-ward to your loneliness. That is more than you have ever done. You would
never notice me, what love have you bent and given? Remember when we
were children dancing and swinging in the hanging gardens. Now we are
growing separate seeds, we have some love little sister. Silent is the violent
heart. Primordial is our history aching us, benevolent ruins. I’m dragged into
your nature. Humanity is little, our beastliness is volatile. Am I not you in a
hollowed mirror, reflecting all you loath for your fears. There I see you inside
of me growing when I have lost all love. We hold like invasive longing, glued
invisibility. You want to destroy me yet I am a part of you. You can cut into the
throat of a dove but still remember its song. My heart carries us even when
we do not speak. We are sisters. I know your love is strong enough to consume
me, I know your love is strong enough to kill me.
