While the Berlin air is currently filled with the Berlinale excitment we thought it´d be a good time to show a short movie as well. Officially selected for the Brooklyn Short Film Festival 2015 “Headlong” directed by Nadia Bedzhanova explores female sexuality and the search of identity and expression, showing two teammates, Alice and Kristina, chatting, talking about boys and football, flirting and figuring themselves out. “Uncertain sexuality, embarrassment, attraction, endorphin boost are the motifs of Headlong. Teenage sexuality and confusion in todays Moscow, Russia, is a very sensitive subject: there is no freedom left for people who are not like the others, sexual minorities are being pressured. With this story I wanted to show that everything is formed and acknowledged in this age, when you’t understand and don’t fall for forced rules of society.”
