Portland’s Liz Anjos made her debut in 2014 under the moniker Pink Feathers, with the four song EP, Invisible Lines. However, Anjos is by no means a rookie. With years of experience playing in bands such as The Pragmatic, and as a collaborator of the electronic indie act RAC, Pink Feathers is just another project for Anjos to boast on her music resume.
Today C-Heads is premiering the Bahner remix of her track “Ghosts” done by Philadelphia’s Carl Bahner. When taking a break from his rock ‘n’ roll day job as the drummer of the indie pop quintet Cheerleader, Bahner spends time reinterpreting and re-envisioning the works of others. Only making his way onto the remix scene less than a year ago, Bahner has already remixed works from the likes of The Wombats, Penguin Prison, and more. Not to be confused with being a DJ, Bahner does not restrict himself to the electronic or house genre when remixing, but truly reinterprets the track on which he is working, often assimilating many aspects of indie rock, pop, and electronic into his mixes. “I met Liz when RAC played in Philly a few months ago and couldn’t wait to get my hands on ‘Ghosts’,” recalls Bahner, “I wanted to present the song as an 80s girl-pop smash with an updated feel.”
