It was such a fantastic night celebrating the end of Dua’s first tour – made all the more special because so many of our friendship group where able to come along and support that night AND because it was a sell-out show! Dua’s music is completely young/current, played by Radio 1 multiple times a day at the moment, but the strength of her voice and ability to perform so well means that such a variety of Londoners where able to enjoy the night (my parents included haha). Although Dua has said her previous shows have all been wonderful this was the first one where the crowd demanded an encore at the end (probably because we’re all so proud to have had our London gal back for the evening).
Dua choose to sing her cover of The Weeknd’s ‘The Hills’ – something she’d just broadcasted the day before, too. The night was all very exciting and a great excuse to get everyone together/celebrate Dua’s success over the past few months. Personal highlight for me was when Dua performed one of her songs ‘Running’ – co. written with the wonderful Andrew Wyatt in his studio in upstate NYC exactly a year ago when Isaac and I where staying with her for the week. Little did we know at the time the song would later be produced to perfection and performed so well back in London to such a huge crowd!
I have known Dua for almost 5 years and I can’t think of a single gal who deserves the success she’s already achieving – such a hard worker who never stops – also managing to look incredible every day. Dua monkey if you read this (which you will because i’ll force you too) you are a total babe. We all love you and can’t wait to keep up the support at many more performances in the bright future you have ahead of you! Rock and roll.
