“I decided to photograph my best friend and her boyfriend because to me they represent what love is about, they look like they were meant to be together, they make each other shine.”
Even before knowing that the couple Leonardo and Alessia shot by photographer Greta Langianni were a real time couple, we could feel this strong connection between them through those punchy black and white images. “My mother’s friend own this old Fiat 500 so I asked him if I could borrow it for a shooting with my friends in a field here in Tuscany were we live; I took my dad’s old jackets and coats and used them for this shooting. Basically I just took whatever was part of my life; dad’s old jackets, a field near my grandparents’ house, a friend’s car, my friends and put all together. Like Ryan McGinley once said “Take your experience of life and connect that with your knowledge of photographic history. Mix it all together, and create an artistic world that we can enter into”.”
Get lost with me
You don’t need much in order to forget about the world when you’re in love,
just lose yourself on a road trip, lose yourself in your lover and find yourselves back in each other.
Lose your minds and your bodies;
hold hands, talk, kiss, hug, fight, just do it all.
Lose condition of time, keep living in that peaceful limbo while you stare at each other’s eyes.
Lose everything so that you can finally be free, free to be.
