Hailed as the “ones to watch” with their unique blend of glitchy beats, wonky bass lines and flirtatiously provocative vocals, experimental RnB-pop purveyors Hoodlem definitely do not disappoint with the release of their self-titled EP.
To coincide the release of “Hoodlem”, we asked for five things that provided inspiration on the EP’s creation.

Exes’ – give me all the good stories, heartache, questions, thoughts, feelings and material to form my own version of things and express what’s on my mind.
Travel – not having a base helped me stay spontaneous and kept me challenged. I had to write on the go and so I became fixated on completion in one sitting. This bought a nice rushed vibe to some of the songs and allowed me to tell one story at a time- kinda like a diary entry.
Japanese art culture – constantly challenged my way of thinking and presented me with so many new visual concepts and ideas and inspiration for the weird, warped and cool accidents within recording our music.
Geographical environment and nature – I am very impacted by my environment and what I can hear and see at the time. I was in so many places I didn’t expect to be in and constantly surprised by where I was
Music – the obvious. Any form, genre, style, etc!
