“The story of Nicola began with a strong longing for Water. A fascinating substance, which has the power to drive forward, calm down, and to create life. This desire led me to spend a carefree afternoon at my friend Fiona’s natural pool with Nicola.

What fascinates me most about water is its mystical effect on people and the experiences we have next to it. Isn’t it astonishing how our mood and feelings can change and how we tend to treat our fellow human beings differently when we’re close to this source of life?

I didn’t aim for the extasic beach lifestlye that we all know very well from Cape town, a city enclosed by water. I was seeking to capture the intimate and laid-back moments, enhanced by the soothing effect of water, that I’d personally love to experience more often. Quiet and alone, surrounded by plants and beautiful houses on the slope of Tamboerskloof. Nicola, with her lively and funny personality, was the ideal woman to savor this setting and lifestyle with.”
