“We were just us that day. The day we both wanted so bad to fall for each other. I kept looking at him, wondering how it could be if we had both just said what was on our minds. I admired his face mostly; the curve of his cheek and how his eyes always seem to gaze through to the perfect part of the world around him. Take me away I kept thinking. Lets fly through the haze of our own longing for each other, for something other than what we truly are. Together we could make a difference. Together, we could lie in these fields. He sparked something inside of me. The way only lights in the dark night can. “Will we ever become one?” “Will we ever become the people we know we can be?” He looks at me and smiles that beautiful smile. I shudder at the thought that come morning, this would all be different. The nights grow cold. “How will we survive the storm?” I thought to myself. If I take your hand and you take mine, if you can see through me with those pretty blue eyes. Will we truly make it together past the waking of the sunrise?”
