“It’s a couple of days where multiple events are held in NYC, without a doubt the Pride Parade being the strongest and most resonant of all the events. The annual event, a collective celebration of LGBT culture and pride, takes place through 5th Avenue till it reaches Greenwich Village, a symbolic neighborhood for the gay community.
Even though I had never gone to past events, I could perceive that this edition had a very special energy. Especially since it happened after the very sad and unfortunate masacre in Orlando. Putting aside the sadness, euforia and happiness dominated the streets. Families, gay couples, heterosexual couples, groups of friends, young people, children and adults all carried the rainbow flag loudly screaming that we are all Orlando and that we are all equal, regardless of who we fall in love with.”
