Almost half a million people from more than 100 countries came together on the Óbuda Island – Budapest Hungary – from August 10th to August 17th. Taking part in one of the biggest festivals in Europe, which is famous worldwide not only for music but also for theatre, art, dance & circus, these faces made Sziget Festival 2016 it´s best edition to date.
Here’s how Szitizens danced their way through the week, guided by lights and amazing performances by hot names like Rihanna, Die Antwoord, Chemical Brothers, Muse & Sia and many more. Dancing to metal, gypsy folk and hip hop. Tapping into the modern notion of the ‘iPod generation’ Sziget gets it when it comes to people broader tastes. With the Internet you can now hear everything so why not see it as well. And the festival reflected brilliantly so many genres over nearly 50 different stages.
If you haven´t been there yet, you absolutely need to visit once. It’s just a beyond fantastic experience that you need to feel and enjoy. And no weasel words, age is not a barrier, there were kids (with earmuffs of course) to people around 60 years old. So taste this amazing festival life, it´s like one week away from reality. So keep next years date in mind: Sziget is celebrating their 25th anniversary from August 9-16 2017. Stay tuned!
