Nutrition is obviously a big part of your life so for you personally are there any foods you don’t eat or anything that you consciously steer clear of?
My ethos is more ‘everything in moderation’ than steering clear of any particular food. However I am pescatarian, so I don’t eat meat (but do eat fish). For a million reasons, I steer clear of meat. Check out the environmental benefits alone – a good enough reasons as any!
What do you say to those who claim that Women with muscles can’t be sexy?
I’m not claiming to be particularly sexy myself, but I think anyone who says that must just be blind. Fitness is sexy. Health is sexy. If you personally don’t find it attractive, that’s ok, but don’t assert those opinions onto others.
Five tips you’d offer to people to help them get a hold on their fitness and nutrition?
1) Start by making small changes to your diet any lifestyle. Sudden, extensive mean you’re more likely to hate it and much less likely to stick to it. 2) find a sport/workout routine you love. Slogging for hours in the gym suits very few people. You’re much more likely to stick to something if you enjoy it. 3) Hold yourself accountable. Do this by working out with a friend or at least letting closest friends know you’re trying to be healthier. Who knows, you may even inspire them too! 4) walk places. Avoid taking the bus or tube for 1 stop. Walk instead! 5) think positively about making a change in your life. Beating yourself up about your body will NOT encourage yourself to keep self-improving. Positivity is key 😊
“I absolutely love cooking – I find it so therapeutic and satisfying…”
When you’re not busy working out, where might we find you and what might we find you doing?
I absolutely love cooking – I find it so therapeutic and satisfying! That’s basically why I started my blog – to hold all the recipes I make on lazy weekends :) If not cooking, then brunching with friends or walking around listening to music… That’s not working out, right?
What do you tuck into on a “cheat day”?
I don’t really do cheat days as such – I tend to be pretty lenient with what I allow myself. However, favourite treats of mine include gooey chocolate brownies, salted caramel anything (esp ice cream), a good pizza and a massive bowl of granola 🙈
If you weren’t obsessed with working out, what do you think you’d be doing or what do you think you’d be obsessed with?
Probably something else. I like to use my time to do things I feel are productive, so I’d probably be a workaholic, or have some sort of daily hobby. But there’s nothing better than getting out and working out for me.

Are you a summer girl or a winter girl?
Summer all the way. I hate the cold and the dark, and I struggle to function in anywhere under 15 degrees. Don’t ask why I still live in the UK! 😁
Favourite workout track?
Generally the artist Muse on shuffle, but the song Survival is my favourite workout track. The cadence is the same as my running cadence when doing intervals so it’s really great to run to!
Where will we see you in 5 years?
London, writing about science for the public, going to nice gyms, blogging 😊
