35 mm Portraits of a girl
“It feels like every time I see through the viewfinder of my old Canon, the world surrounding me becomes absolutely beautiful and interesting. It actually makes me fall in love for a few seconds with whomever I’m a taking picture of.” he sums up his experience. “This series reflects Sasha in an everyday context she is comfortable with. We hung out at the apartment talking, listening to Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala The XX and watching her favorite show. I decided to shoot her in this setting, in 35 mm as a contrast to the formality of a photography studio. She is not used to being photographed so I tried to make it as natural and fun as possible. No make up and no professional lightning.”
“I wanted to capture that innocence and vulnerability in the series. I wanted to capture the real Sasha so she never knew when I was actually going to take the photograph.”
