Let’s celebrate Love!
Photographer Anna Semenova is exploring the intimacy and sensuality of Tel Aviv in an ongoing black and white series #loversintelaviv.
“The project #loversintelaviv has started when my emotional breakdown was on the verge. I finished a longterm relationship, moved to another city, began travels to Israel from the unstable Ukraine – I was in the quest of an everlasting summer.” Anna Semenova reveals about the series. “People knew me as a “boudoir” photographer, who was proving to themselves and others that the art of nudity was established because of the delight for the female body. My classic education has always shown me what is good, what is bad, and I love to be on the verge of these states. But at one point everything in my working subject was becoming more and more boring. Just like any artist, I was living my own inner question “What are you gonna do about it?”. #loversintelaviv was born when I wanted to open up the sensibility towards others within myself. I noticed that in Israel groups of people are very divided into male and female, religion and atheistic, heterosexual and homosexual, although, at the same time, these groups actively fruitfully intertwined with each other. I feel that here people are living in a more special euphoric way, maybe it’s cause of the powerful summer heat? I don’t know and therefore want to explore it so my visual archives are growing and my pictures show you the people I adore. The series of the intimacy and sensuality of Tel Aviv will continue to show different ages and ethnic groups in love, it’s so simple.”
