The wilderness
a place between
heaven and earth.
Munich based photographer Verena Voetter wanted to shoot in the mountain area of Bavaria, because she knows a lot of lovely places there where you can even find wild orchids and crystal blue rivers. Together with hair and make up artist Arno Humer and the two models Alina H. & Lena S. of Munich Models they disappeared into the wild for a photographic adventure. “Arno is such a creative, a very positive guy and so uncomplicated. When we work together I always know I am gonna like the results. He can go crazy with the hair and make up, but he can also do really pure styles which is what I was looking for this time. I really wanted to shoot on film because of the colours of the mountains, rivers, rocks and of course for the pure skin.” Verena tells and reveals that another really important person to make this happen was Sebastian Resch, another young photographer from Munich whom she met last year.
“Since then we worked together a few times and I always enjoyed it so much. It´s quite rare that photographers really share their ideas and help each other with their projects. I think, way more people should do that instead of envy each others success. I am so happy, he helped me with this story” she continues. “We got up really early on a Sunday morning and had the best weather we could ask for. It was a wonderful sunny day at an amazing location near Silvensteinspeicher. It´s fabulously crazy, that I can do what I love with such great people, and even shoot on film. I feel very blessed for that. I love the contrast of fashion and still some kind of portrait style, where the girls personalities are also really important. I shot the coloured pictures with the Nikon F-501 and Nikkor 50mm/1,8 and the black and white pictures with my beloved Yashica 124 Mat G, Kodak T-Max, and like before, the Yashica decided by herself when to do a double exposure. Shes just such a diva!”
