Hong Kong fashion design student Ho Mei Ching explores nowadays social media behaviour within his newest collection called “I Like My Own Post”
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness.” In this digital age, it is a hustle and bustle era, we live under an impetuous social setting. Everyone indulge with scrolling through social media, allowing for ever-refreshing content on our phones. We crudely receive simple and fragmented information. This age is also about decentralization, everyone believes that they can be famous for a few seconds.
Shameless amount of selfies shows this generation is high in narcissism, there is nothing more but ME, ME, ME.
It is a world filled with lies and grand illusion, the line between the virtual world and reality is well blurred. People glorify shallow and lowbrow aesthetic, it is a age of the foolish. The force of the online world turns people into pure pleasure-seeking kind of being, we use game spirit against the culture.
This age is about you and me.”
