Love at first sight

Night times are definitely my favourite for street photography. Cityscapes are lit with a myriad of interesting and colourful light sources, such as lampposts, neon signs, skyscraper windows and car lights. People dress in their favourite outfits to go out; dull scenes by day turn fascinating at night.
With “Vivid Sydney” being the largest light, music and ideas festival in the Southern Hemisphere, AND Australia’s Event of the Year, I decided to take Hayley out for a stroll through the city. I absolutely love shooting interesting people and she definitely makes the cut, as she’s one of those that would clap her hands jumping up and down when she gets excited.
“Photos dictate much of what we recall from the past, so our subjects ultimately shape our memories. I always believe that if there’s no dynamics between the photographer and the subject, there won’t be good photos; I definitely fell in love with this set”
Colouring the city with creativity and inspiration, “Vivid Sydney” features a huge, free nightly light show of immersive lighting installations, building projections and water theatre around Sydney Harbour, such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, which transform Sydney into a spectacular canvas when it takes over the city after dark.
