and I stare as I always do
when I enter the room
I cannot relate
I don’t know what I would say
as they think and they talk about sex
and I think about you
and I think about what to do next
wanna get out, wanna lie down, wanna go home again
Pop duo and longtime lovers Wy from Sweden finally release something new after their debut EP “Never Was” And again, they have processed sensitive and deep themes in their music. “It’s one of two love songs on the album. I usually have a hard time writing love songs, but I wanted to write about what it’s like being a couple when both of you struggle with social anxiety. It’s about being uncomfortable around every person except one, and being each others safety zone.” explains Ebba from Wy.
And she continues on the atmospheric video: “Nailing the feeling in this one was hard. We’ve wanted to do a music video in an old car for a long time, but just that concept wasn’t enough. We tried a few different things, but in the end it was the bike scene that tied it all together. We love to put a lot of effort into our videos, even though we make them ourselves. It’s hard to make a video for a love song that doesn’t feel too cliché though. It had to be a little bit cliché, which was good (and a choice) because we still want to have fun and not always take the things we do so serious.”
