Formerly of the English electronic duo IYES, Melis Soyaslanová has since stepped out on her own. Simply Melis, the songstress carves out her space in a form of synth pop that is heavily reminiscent of R&B, but pop sensible. Her productions are ornate, but the soundscapes are minimalistic – all tied together by her knack for melody and heartfelt lyricism. Today C-Heads brings you her latest, “Sober,” an interesting take on parting ways with a lover. “Too weak for you, I think I’ll have another two / Not sure what it’s good for but I’ll be sober when I’m over you.”
