Is social media making us more anti social?
It’s hard to say because in some ways we are more connected to each other than ever before. In other ways, loneliness does seem more prevalent. But who’s to say what defines being social? We live in an age of constant transformation—innovating on yesterday’s innovations. For me, each moment that passes looks far different than the moment before it. In a lot of ways, I think social media has actually changed what it means to socialize. When I was in high school, Facebook was cool because on Mondays you could see what everyone did the previous weekend. As Instagram became more popular, it was suddenly, more of this account of what people were doing semi-recently. With Snapchat (and later Instagram stories), it became literally…this is what people are doing right now or in the last 24 hours. In that respect, I feel we are socializing more than ever..
When was the last time you sent or received a postcard?
Last month. I have nearly a hundred saved from throughout the years. Postcards are so much more personal, and it is really fun to pull them out and look over the memories. The most special ones hang on my walls, and the rest are scattered within my archives. They are some of my most cherished possessions.

What do you think about first thing in the morning?
Work! As much as I try not to, I am often even dreaming of my work. When I first open my eyes, I usually try to shut them and meditate, especially because I tend to be a wake-up-before-my-alarm-clocks-rings kind of girl. After a meditation session, I like to start my day with a short session of yoga and a hot cup of green tea. I find that this ritual creates a peaceful foundation for the rest of my day.
What are you grateful for?
Health, love, opportunity…I’m grateful for so much…I’m grateful for everything because the good without the bad, ain’t no good at all.
