What inspired you to be in front of a camera?
Well to be honest, I was scouted when I was fifteen and I didn’t really ever intend on being a model. Much less seeing myself become one. I am really grateful I have this opportunity and I love that I’m able to be creative in front of it. In regards to now, being in front of a camera makes me feel strong and confident.
Tell us three of your favorite places in London:
I really love to go to Hyde Park. Especially when it’s warm out and you can go and sit out on a picnic blanket and just people-watch. I also like going to Portobello road when the flea market is going on just because there is so many cool trinkets to see and buy. Lastly, I like walking around Shoreditch, there’s some cool vintage shops there.
How much time are you spending on instagram? And what do you think is the future of social media?
I must admit I’m pretty guilty of spending a considerable amount on my phone. I think Instagram is a really cool app but I can also see why it’s toxic and sometimes addictive. I think social media is going to end up defining aspects of our life and I honestly think the episode “Nosedive” in Black Mirror really depicts that well.
“I appreciate getting to work in a creative field where I can be myself and also work with like-minded individuals who are passionate about art.”
What do you love most about your life and why?
I love the fact that I have the opportunity to travel and live in different cities. I also appreciate getting to work in a creative field where I can be myself and also work with like-minded individuals who are passionate about art. I’m also really happy I have such a loving family who support my dreams and friends who care so much about me.
What makes you sad?
Rainy days. I think there’s a sad beauty in a rainy day and I usually find myself listening to sad music when that occurs.
What can someone do every day to live more sustainably?
If I’m getting this right I think the best way to live sustainably is to recycle and support the organic/cage-free food movement. I also think that minimizing your use of private transportation and using the tube and riding a bike is the best way to live sustainably.
What movie character are you most like?
I think I’m most like Erin Brockovich. I know she’s actually a real person but I think the way Julia Roberts portrays her is really relatable. Erin is a compassionate and fearless hardworking person and those are traits I pride myself in having. I think she’s a really strong woman and I love how she stands up for herself and for those she cares for and how she “don’t need no man.” I’d like to say I have pretty similar traits and her personality resonates a lot with me.
Any questions we should have asked you?
What are some of your favorite bands? What are your favorite London pubs? ;) If you weren’t modeling what would you want to do?
Okay, so If you weren’t modeling what would you want to do? :)
I’d probably be in school studying and interning to become an environmentalist. I’ve always been interested in how humans affect our planet and what we can do to better improve conditions. Either that, or marine biology. But definitely focusing all my time on that if I wasn’t a model.
