”Since I met Giovanna I knew I wanted to shoot some photos with her. But I didn’t know where until a mutual friend showed us his apartement in Rome. And I immediatly fell in love with the sunset light coming through its windows.”
Italian photographer Daniele Orazi smiles when talking about his series featuring beauty Giovanna Verzierir. “Simplicity is the key. I like to recreate an intimate situation, where the subject can feel totally comfortable. I prefer to capture moments in natural portraits rather than posing. I love the feeling that it looks like as if i’m even not there, and let the light and the coexistence of power and vulnerability of the model make the photo. That’s why I also prefer to shoot on film. It gives me the sensation of creating something unique and unrepeatable with the subject. Capturing intimacy requires trust in the photographer. And with an analog camera I feel totally absorbed in this intimacy, without any distractions. I shoot with a female audience in mind. If women don’t like my work then I’ve failed.”
