“Sisterhood. It´s something we should bring back to the Western world and something they should keep in Nepal.”
“A group of women is a beautiful thing. If they just gather together and talk about philosophy and how to improve one another. Giving advice to each other. It´s just making then more powerful and beautiful. Sisterhood. It´s something we should bring back to the Western world and something they should keep in Nepal.”
Julie Duboue´s eyes sparkle so much when she talks about sisterhood and her travel experiences. The 22-year-young French girl had been living in Pokhara for five months working at an eco-recycling center and living with local women and is starring this brilliant short film shot by Justin Davey. “The original concept was to depict a fictitious travel romance with a meditative tone (which is still touched upon). However, upon meeting Julie in person, I had to adapt the idea as her personality and perspective offered much more than my projection of what I thought she was. By deconstructing my imagined ideal and including more documentary elements from an interview with her, I was able to blend fiction and reality to create a La Fille De Pokhara.”
