“I collaborated with the talented photographer Daniela Yordanova, who created the concept of our set, so the pictures perfectly illustrate the mood of this poem of mine.
Daniela studied in England and came back to Bulgaria only 2 years ago, but already managed to get her place and establish herself on the soil of local fashion industry. She is a wonderful photographer, is very creative and has her own taste and vision. She also does a great job with styling and make up as you can see on the pictures we took.
When it comes to me, since my last publications I can tell you that from a gymnastics or dancing stage Unsocial Radioactive Kid has moved to a fashion arena. I’ve been modeling for nearly 4 years already, and for me it turned into something way bigger than just a job. I’m happy I can apply my artistic skills in here and this way to make it a platform for creativity and spiritual satisfaction.
The text I’m sharing with you is a poem called “Bohemian days” dedicated to all young artistic hearts that crave to be seen, heard and find their way to the Arts or like in our case to the “Fashion Olympus”.
If you check the definition of “bohemian” Google will define it as “socially unconventional in an artistic way”, and nowadays we’ve got a lot of young people fighting for their future by creating and exposing tons of promising artworks of theirs and thus contributing to the change and development of the industry.
“To me, fashion is ceaselessly fascinating because it is an expression of self” says Anna Wintour and it’s impossible to disagree. Now we are having more and more people turning their backs to the ordinary and traditional, building up their own uniqueness and personalities and diversifying the word! And we are observing it in every piece of textiles, prints, shapes, – fashion never sleeps or stands still. “Fashion is a reflection of time” – so we see how it reflects on its crazy dynamics!
Talking of the poem’s core I’d like to say it is based on personal experience and exposes the way I’ve been discovering myself and the environment around me. I had to break away from my family and the traditional values used to follow, to move to another country 4000 km away from my hometown in order to learn how to live on my own and re-create myself barely from very beginning. I started my life over.
And now I’m 20 and beside “the only thing I know is that I know nothing” I’ve seen and realised the word is as big as the amount of opinions, visions and points of view. I saw there were a lot of people which I found “different” when I became one of them for the “old” me and old environment of mine. And now I know the word is big enough for any idea which seems undoable or inapplicable and for anyone who might seem marginalized or abandoned to find his or her space to complete the puzzle of the modern society.
I want to break free,
Stand up from my knees,
Get out of the chains
Of human obedience-
… Bohemian days…
A man free of charge
Per day or per night
Who’s a hero? Who’s foe?
Today or tomorrow-
Bohemian rot!
The conveyer of thoughts:
Bury all your dreams first.
Those are demons or folk
Holding up their prongs-
They can’t wait anymore…
Hard-set driving force
Stronger than any horse!
It itches, it hates,
It loves, it pulsates-
Oh, Bohemian days!
We bitch and we fight
Till the end of the night
And then change our face down to earth
And we will be alright,-
There’s no other scenario
We just keep living life on our own.
And I wish to break free,
Everyone can agree
To throw out our chains,
Our human obedience,-
But better time, better place,
Sacrifice and abasement-
Waiting for brighter days.
We’ll keep hiding in a crowd
Or creating a background:
Waving hands, but not hitting the aim.
We will pray for a better tomorrow today
We are clay,
Bending over someone’s mistakes,-
We still secretly crave to be slaves.
