The leaves are slowly turning colourful, with a little wistfulness but at the same time thrill of anticipation we look forward to autumn while saying good bye to summer. Photographer Nirish Shakya enjoyed a last summer picnic by the River Thames, Richmond in London together with model Sofia Hietamäki and Julie Fargues who assisted the shooting.
“New Finnish beauty, Sofia, lives in London and is moving to Australia soon. When we heard of a freak warm weekend coming up which could well be our last for the year, my friend, photographer and assistant for the shoot, Julie, put together a delicious French picnic for us by the River Thames. But as soon as we set up the picnic, the tide moved in super fast and we had to scramble to move our picnic to the forest nearby. With our bellies full, we went back to the river as the sun was setting and got some gorgeous shots of Sofia.”
