“I decided to become a photographer when I was in my early 20s, did a craft training in an advertising studio, then assisted other photographers for a few years, and now I have been working as a photographer in advertising for 7 years. When I started, I was convinced of the professionalism of the media scene and was proud that my images made products and services appealing to consumers. Advertising in German-speaking countries is very conservative, and my clients usually don’t give me much creative leeway. Often there is a layout with an illustration or a photo that is then -more or less – imitated.” explains German photographer Daniel Reinhold.
“Afterwards, the pictures are reworked in a long process, skin blemishes are removed, heads are exchanged, more shine is conjured into the hair or a beach is built into the background, for my taste this Photoshop madness is somewhat exaggerated and also contradicts my desire for authentic pictures.” he continues. “Then one day, I realized that I had this dream to work creatively and that my last free work was years ago. I got to know gorgeous Dako in an online forum where I usually cast extras every now and then and where a lot of ambitious amateur models and photographers cavort. When Dako came to Hamburg, and we met in my ZIMT studio, I was very unprepared, and we just improvised a bit, so we took these pictures.” Enjoy this natural C-Heads debut!
