The new cinematic short fashion movie produced and directed by Naomi Christie is inspired by the nostalgic French Nu Wave and the all too relatable lost romance.
“I wanted to tell that all-too relatable story of fleeting romances and slippery promises. Jamais Vu is about the peculiar phenomenon of how lovers turn into strangers. I was inspired to experiment with utilizing production design to tell the story.” she explains. “My cinematographer, Chris Hadland and I conspired to create a fashion piece on a whim with some talented friends and it was a labor of love. There was no script for the film so it was entirely improv. Our two starring actors were freshly dating at the time and I pulled our actress Tess aside and told her that if she was willing, it would be really special to capture her first “I love you” on camera since they haven’t exchanged those words yet. She thought about it and in the living room scene decided to say it. So it was really cool that the sentiments you see in that scene are real.”
