Once in a while, good things effortlessly come into fruition.
Such was the case for Marie Lang with her brand new video for her summery R&B pop tune “Body” when she realized the opportunity to work with director Rona Liana. The LA-based songwriter dropped her debut EP of the same name in December, and continues to welcome you to her world with each new visual. Its a beautiful “ode to love” as Lang herself calls it; simple in lyric, but layered in theme, and C-Heads is happy to bring you a first look at the intimate short today.

“‘Body’ to me is an ode to love and I wanted to show different connections and relationships. Although the chorus could be interpreted as sexual, I wanted to focus more on trust and emotional intimacy, rather than the physical aspect. The whole cast really embraced the song and the challenge it posed, and we had some really beautiful, honest moments on set.”
Marie Lang on Body:
The Body video was one of the most beautiful coincidences and also tied everything together for my debut EP, which was first gonna be self-titled. Somehow LA based director Rona Liana found my song “Body” through an instagram story and reached out to me. We met only 4 weeks before the EP dropped and chatted about life, love and what the song meant to me and she ended up pulling off the quickest turnaround with the most incredible team. After hearing her vision for the video, everything clicked and I decided to make the song the title track of my EP, which coincidentally went perfectly with the cover I had shot months before in Vienna with Mahir Jahmal.
“Body” to me is an ode to love and I wanted to show different connections and relationships. Although the chorus could be interpreted as sexual, I wanted to focus more on trust and emotional intimacy, rather than the physical aspect. The whole cast really embraced the song and the challenge it posed, and we had some really beautiful, honest moments on set. We decided to shoot most of my scenes without a partner, because self-love has been a big subject for me. I’ve always been my own worst critic and better at loving others than showing up for myself, so I wanted to have that aspect in there as well. My dream is to create a community around my music, in which people feel seen and supported and I think everyone on set that day was tuned in with that philosophy and we had a big team romance. I hope everyone watching the video feels the sparks through the screen.
