Specially in that challenging times we are in need of some positive vibes and incredible music.
“My vision is to blend a fusion of music styles (mixing r’n’b/soul with latin and jazz) in a scenery that hasn’t been in the spotlight for artists in the soul/pop scene. “explains Katerinha, who is a North Macedonian singer/songwriter living and working in Berlin, on her first ever release “Tripping”. The track immediately puts you in a chilled mood, smoothly makes its way into your mind and we happily premiere the intriguing video today.
Entirely shot on a single camera and produced without any external funding but just with the support of friends and family, the video was shot on five different locations in North Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. “The filming locations are futuristic Yugoslavian monuments built in brutalistic style, honouring the Partisan resistance against the Nazis and other occupiers. The mesmerizing concrete beauty rises in the untouched nature around it, speaking of an era that the world didn’t forget, mostly because it didn’t know about it. These artworks were built between the 60s and 80s and yet they portray a future that we haven’t reached yet.” tells the young artist and adds that the original idea for the scenery and dramatic storyline was by the director, Milena Viitman. The fascinating choreography is performed by French contemporary dancers Exocé Kasongo and Astan Meyer (of Congolese and Malian background) and inspired by West African and Krump dancing, including a delicate Body Expression performance.
“The aesthetics of all the elements – the music, the nature, the dancers and the architecture combined create a delight for the lover of beauty and teases curiosity for these unknown alien-like places.”
