“Hey, my name is Igor Swieczak. I used to be snowboard coach and a rider, now I am a full time freelance photographer and #vanlife traveler.” introduces Igor himself to us and continues to tell about his past adventurous year. “I am living in a van over a year now. Going back and forth from Poland to Portugal. During lockdown I was trapped in Austria. After 7 months of documenting snowboarding season – from February to late August, I was staying mainly in the mountains. When I finally got back to Warszawa, Poland, I was super stocked to meet my friends. And beside fixing my van I wanted to change the vibe of my photography a bit. Make something different than just documentary, sports and nature. My goal was always to capture beautiful moments and people.”
So he met for a shooting with Antonina in her little flat, not far from the center of Warsaw and since they both share the same passion for sports and pretty pictures working on this together was so much fun.
“Antonina has already had a lot of experience in modeling and acting in commercials and she is a real natural beatuy so we wanted to use that and shoot as natural as possible. The tricky thing was that we only had 2 hours of sunlight early in the morning. So we even used big mirrors to lighten up the corner of her bedroom with little effect of dispersion, which I found charming. It was lazy Saturday, finally a day off from work and we didn’t want to rush anything. Staying in bed was the obvious thing to do. Just like you feel in the morning, when you slowly start your day.”
