We really miss listening to live music. In the meantime we console ourselves with watching music videos – and what better is there than acoustic versions. Such as the one of TÖME´s ‘I Pray’.
The Nigerian-French Canadian artist tells about the track: “When I made the acoustic version I was playing around with the chords and it made me feel different, it gave me a jazzy, bluesy feel which emphasised the beauty and the chaos. The fact that there’s negativity around, keeping faith is a beautiful thing and it’s important to stay positive through these times and to have a different feeling or perspective. That was definitely the vibe I wanted to give off, I wanted this to give my fans a different sense of the song – whatever that may be.”
Released back in September, the revered original, featuring dancehall legend Sean Kingston, is now reanimated with a focus on subtle guitar sound and soulful vocals. We love when music is stripped-back to this raw and natural elements, reminding us of unforgettable concert moments.
