Sometimes our thoughts get lost in small splinters. Dissipate in the muse of the city. Your gaze wanders over the many houses. And all the many stories they tell. Enjoy a series by Claudia du Lièvre starring Lucie.
“I used to think of my photography as some sort of personal diary, but now it seems that the most enjoyable part of my work is when I disappear, when the picture is no longer a reflection of me and models seem to have no awareness of my presence behind a camera.” Claudia explains to us.
She continues: “I look back at some pictures feeling like I wasn’t even there myself. I enjoy the idea of creating spaces for people to exist freely, where the protagonists choose what they are willing to share with me. I want my photography to represent the way they would wish to be perceived, which is not necessarily the way that I see them.
I met Lucie on the sunniest day February in Geneva can offer. A couple of weeks later, she shaved my head. I flew back home, developed the film. These pictures are what Lucie chose to share with me.”
