Billy Vena is locked in a groove.
The Panama-born, Texas-based “Disco Maniac” is back with a viber of a new single in “Shaggy Dynamite”. It’s everything you’d expect from the psych-popster; smooth, fresh, and in the pocket. Thematically it’s about convincing yourself when you’re over someone. In his own words, “Faking it ’til you make it.” Furthermore it’s the second in a slew of singles he’ll be releasing of a brand new EP that he’ll be unveiling later this year. Today C-Heads brings you a first look at the song’s colorful lyric video below:

“Back when I wrote “Shaggy Dynamite”, Not only me, but some of my friends were having troubles getting over failed relationships. The more I told myself I wasn’t hurt over this particular relationship anymore, the closer I got to it becoming reality, until it was.”
“Shaggy Dynamite was finally finished in August of 2020, when Angelo Leo had added the final Saxophone melodies to the climax of the song. Back when I wrote it, Not only me, but some of my friends were having troubles getting over failed relationships. I talk about how I’m over them romantically, even when I wasn’t, giving insight on the overall message of the song, “faking it till you make it”. The more I told myself I wasn’t hurt over this particular relationship anymore, the closer I got to it becoming reality, until it was.”
